3. Acclimation Process
Bring SPC planks into the bathroom for 48 hours before installation
Maintain room temperature between 65-85°F (18-29°C)
Keep planks in their packaging until ready to install
For bathroom installations, we recommend using a waterproof underlayment with a vapor barrier. This provides:

Roll out underlayment, tape seams with waterproof tape, and trim to fit room dimensions.
Measure room dimensions
Decide on installation direction (typically parallel to longest wall)
Dry lay a few rows to check pattern and minimize waste
Plan cuts around toilet, vanity, and other fixtures
Bathroom-Specific Layout Tip: Start installation from the most visible wall, ensuring cut pieces end up in less visible areas or under fixtures.
Place spacers (1/4 inch) against all walls
Start in left corner with tongue side facing wall
Connect planks end-to-end, ensuring tight seams
Use pull bar for final plank in row
Stagger end joints at least 6-8 inches between rows
Maintain consistent expansion gap around perimeter
Use tapping block and mallet gently - never hammer directly on plank edges
Check alignment every 3-4 rows
Around Toilet:
Measure distance from installed flooring to toilet center
Cut plank to fit around toilet base
Make cardboard template for complex shapes
Dry fit before final installation
Doorways and Transitions:
Use T-molding for transitions to other flooring
Under-cut door jambs for clean finish
Ensure expansion gap continues under transitions
Install flooring up to shower curb or drain flange
Use waterproof silicone caulk (color-matched) at edges
Never install SPC inside shower pans
SPC flooring works with most underfloor heating systems
Maximum surface temperature: 85°F (29°C)
Follow heating system manufacturer's guidelines
Increase expansion gaps slightly (to 3/8 inch)
